Meet Pastor Mike

 

Welcome to St. Paul United Methodist Church in La Porte City, Iowa.  We are an evangelical Bible-based church following in the Wesleyan tradition of, "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, as long as ever you can."  -- John Wesley, founder of Methodism.

 

We are an active and growing church family of poor, rich, big, small, young, not-so-young, families, divorced, remarried, singles, seekers, doubters, believers, educated, not-so-educated, and everything in between!  So rest assured, there is a place for you in our church.

 

As for me, I am a Holy Spirit filled pastor that takes very seriously John Wesley's call to all his pastors, "You have nothing to do, but save souls."  My sermons are fun, challenging, and full of energy.  Most call them "teaching sermons." 

 

I know that it can be a little scary coming into a church for the first time, so if you would like to meet with me before your first Sunday, then I can certainly do that.  The church office phone number is 319-342-2208.
